The company was established by the Assembly of the City of Skopje in 1952 as the "Funeral and Cemetery Administration".

Twenty-five years later, it was renamed "Communal Work Organization". In 1991, according to the positive legal regulations, it was transformed into BUTEL Joint Stock Company for funeral and accompanying activities - Skopje.

Since then, a dynamic development has been achieved with European standards for quality execution of the goals and tasks set.
